The Cancer Institute of New Jersey (CINJ) is the state’s first and only National Cancer...Read more >The LIFE Event (LPGA Pros in the Fight to Eradicate Breast Cancer) mission is to continue to help eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease, while reaching out to a younger generation of women and providing them with information about the importance of early detection and healthy breast care practices.
The Val Skinner Foundation promotes these initiatives through two LIFE Series events.
The 2008 LIFE Event in Paramus, N.J. will be held on on May 19.
The biggest names from the LPGA will meet May 19 at the Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus, N.J. for the ninth LIFE Event, which benefits breast cancer research and advocacy.
The pro-am golf outing, hosted by the Val Skinner Foundation, will raise $500,000 for the breast cancer awareness and research programs.
Aside from golfing with an LPGA Professional, participants will enjoy a LIFE Lessons clinic for beginning and intermediate golfers, and a reception where LIFE Heroes will be recognized.

The Val Skinner Foundation’s passionate fight against breast cancer has grown to include a second LIFE Series event at the renowned Haig Point Golf Club on Daufuskie Island on Sept. 22.
LIFE in the South will keep many of the same traditions as the flagship event in New Jersey and will also generate $500,000 for local breast cancer programs.
The first annual LIFE in the South pro-am golf outing at Hilton Head, S.C. will feature LPGA Hall of Fame members, Nancy Lopez and Beth Daniel, with two-time U.S. Open Champion Meg Mallon, Brittany Lincicome, Rachel Hetherington, Sherri Steinhauer, Helen Alfredsson, Kelli Kuehne,Laura Diaz and Stacy Prammanasudh, among others.
The event will feature a pro-am and LIFE Lessons clinic followed by a reception where LIFE Heroes will be honored.
